What’s next

Upon reflection, the main reoccurring lessons are primarily based on mindset and the ability to observe things in a non-traditional way.

It is very easy to get trapped in a habitual cycle of building our beliefs based on the information provided by others, when the majority of those beliefs are subjected to individual bias with a complete lack of evidence to support such ideas.

The human brain will always look for the most efficient method of survival, thus create habits based on our behaviours.

This demonstrates the importance of self-awareness in order to break such habits which serve no constructive purpose in our lives.

This concept is not just confined to career decisions and beliefs, but life in general.

The source of a mental breakthrough

Talks given by John Healy, Aisha Bello-Dumbatta, and Jorn Cheney, are all examples of the importance of approaching tasks and decisions with an open mind.

Combining this with technological breakthroughs such as quantum computing, it is clear that we are not just habitually regurgitating the opinions of others, but more so confined by our own beliefs of what is possible in life.

Therefore, we shape our own lives and make decisions based on a preconceived set of beliefs.

Personally, I find it quite disturbing that the majority of decisions people make in life is based on a set of preconceived ideas.

Are we just going through life like pre-programmed cyborgs.

A method of implementation

A clear example of preconceived ideas shaping our own belief system is the talk given by Paul Cross who explained that its usually the smallest entity that plays the most important role.

The way in which modern culture has managed to create personal connections between humans and large furry creatures has tricked us into believing that these creatures are of most importance when in fact it is the smallest of organisms that hold the future of our civilisation as we know it.

Remember stay open minded and break the habit of regurgitating preconceived ideas.

This exemplifies the benefits of team building explained by Mattias Green as by constructing an effective team for a specific task, the input of individua bias can be separated from facts and ideas can be based on logical thinking.

Method in practice.

The talk presented by Jorn Cheney is a clear demonstration of how disregarding the conventional way of thinking can benefit how we live our lives.

Robin Sharma quote

His ability to look at a natural system and understand how technology could emulate this for the better of mankind provides proof of how looking at the world from a non-traditional perspective can lead to innovation.

Without people who have the ability to remain self-aware, openminded, and reject the traditional way of thinking, advancements throughout civilisation would plateau.

This proves the importance of the various aspects of mindset demonstrated throughout the talks and highlights the dependence of society on the implementation of the correct mindset.

How will I begin the next stage of my career?

When thinking about the next stage of my career, what I am going to do is irrelevant in comparison to how I am going to approach it.

Armed with the deep lessons learned from the various speakers, I need to approach my career decisions with the right mindset, implementing logical thinking and building good habits.

Adopting these habits and becoming as self-aware as possible is something that can not only benefit my career, but my personal life as well.

Every human seeks a feeling of purpose in life, wanting to leave their mark on our planet, but fail to realise they are living life in a series of habitual behaviours.

We fail to address the real power of the human mind, and that is the ability to redesign our habitual behaviours to benefit our careers, our lives, and even the lives of others.

My plans to scale up by business and pursue business ventures in the scientific sector, 1 question should be held above all others, how can I serve as many people as possible?

By implementing all the lessons learned I feel confident in my success over the next five years, and optimistic about how the application of these lessons to the improvement of my own mindset will dramatically increase the number of people I can serve.

By disregarding my own biases and thinking outside the box with a bases of fact and logic, I trust that any future decision will the best decision I can make.

Remember mindset is everything.
